Updated-- Imagine. It's a Good Idea

There is a force we have and it’s called imagination. It’s good at making things happen. We’ve been told that many things are imaginary and therefore they don’t work. That’s not true. Imagination is exactly what creates. Everything. Where is it you want to live? Imagine that. Do it hard and now. This isn’t about probability. That’s actually the materialist in you blabbing stupidly. You probably don’t need that voice.

My experience has been that the most outlandish things can indeed become reality by mere application of imagination, in fact, I’d argue that the universe, composed as it is of intelligence, favors novelty. The method— start a creative journey. Make something and wait for the world to present an answer. This is the reason for the Herb the Battle Unicorn— The Action Figure project. The work began with a drawing of the character and through one synchronicity that involved The Hoodoo Altar, a piece that started the current of synchronicities from which the Herb project emerged, I recognized there was a suggestion that this was a direction which would bear weird fruit, and indeed it did. Many of the pieces were followed by news items or current events which directly referenced the piece. For example this piece, created on Aug. 15, 2018,

Was followed on Aug. 20, 2018, by this:

Others were personal synchronicities which bore an obvious relationship to the piece just completed. Sometimes before the finishing touches were applied to the piece in question. This piece being the most intense example of this class of synchs:

The components of the piece were found (all of this stuff is thrift store acquired by a process I call junk store mysticism) on the 25th of January 2020. This find was incredibly potent because I have so many personal synchronicities to Twin Peaks. I hadn’t had time to create the piece yet when an event of enormous personal significance occurred on January 26th, 2020. I won’t go into detail here, but it was an event of shocking intensity, completely life-altering. In fact, it would be impossible to overstate the extreme impact of this piece and all of its implications.

A necessary piece of this project has been keeping a log of synchs related to specific Battle Unicorns, which is the purpose of the Herb the Battle Unicorn sych log blog. I’m working at cross referencing these better as some of the syncs are quite specifically related to the creation of specific pieces. There’s also the fact that the beginning of the project, which started with the creation of Herb the Battle Unicorn as a drawing in March 2017 was followed almost immediately by a unicorn craze,  evidenced by the Google analytics data for April of that year. This, along with a second sync belonging to The Hoodoo Altar piece, suggested this direction.

I consider the web portion of the project not merely a record, but as an integral part of the work. The web being a rhizome of intelligence is a participant in the working by its very nature.

The point of all of this is, that by the application of creative process, it is quite possible, as I have proven to myself in this and other projects, to co-create synchronous events in real time, otherwise known as magic. What this implies about the power of the creative process and the power of art is profound. More of us need to engage creatively. I fully believe that we’ve been actively discouraged in this realm for a long time because there are quite a few who would hate to have the plebs get their hands on all that shiny magic. Which means we should all put our hands all over it.
